The velvet underground

 

The Velvet Underground was an American rock band, active from 1964 to 1973. The band is best remembered for being the birthplace of two of the greatest vocalists in history, Lou Reed and John Cale . – artists who later had admirable solo careers. Although they only have a few products together, The Velvet Underground is still mentioned as one of the most influential artists in world music of the 60s. One of the best comments about them – even considered classic – is attributed to Brian Eno or Peter Buck :"Velvet Underground's debut album only sold 10,000 copies, but whoever bought it later started their own band!"

Andy Warhol manages The Velvet Underground at his own studio, The Factory , and across the Exploding Plastic Inevitable series of events . Sometimes the band's lyrics are judged as having no real connection to their music .

 

Their debut album in 1967, The Velvet Underground & Nico (song with German singer Nico ) was ranked at number 13 on the 2003 " 500 Greatest Albums " list and was listed by Rolling magazine at number 13. Stone considers it "the most erudite album". In 2004, the magazine ranked the band at number 19 on its list of the "100 Greatest Artists". The Velvet Underground was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996 through a narration by Patti Smith .
